Business Development Manager

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team, BCR Law LLP, a local full-service law firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal background and a comprehensive understanding of law firm dynamics. The primary responsibility of the Business Development Manager will be to drive business growth by developing and implementing strategic initiatives, cultivating client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth and expand the firm’s client base.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including businesses, individuals, and organisations, to generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Partners and Department Heads to understand client needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead the development of marketing materials, presentations, and proposals to effectively communicate the firm’s capabilities and value proposition to prospective clients and intermediaries.
  • Attend networking events, industry conferences, and other relevant gatherings to promote the firm and build relationships within the legal and business communities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and threats to the firm’s growth.
  • Analyse client feedback and market data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
  • Work closely with the Partners and internal team members to coordinate business development efforts and ensure alignment with the firm’s overall goals and objectives.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of law firm dynamics, including practice areas, client acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing business development strategies that drive growth and profitability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Flexibility to travel as needed for client meetings, networking events, and other business development activities.
