Delegates

Supporting you when capacity is lost with dignity, structure, and care.

In Jersey, where a person is no longer able to manage their own affairs due to illness or incapacity, the Royal Court can appoint a Delegate under the Capacity and Self-Determination (Jersey) Law 2016. BCR Executors, Delegates and Attorneys (BCR EDA) can be formally appointed by the Court or privately engaged to act in this role.

Our Expertise

At BCR, with expertise across legal, tax and fiduciary roles, our team is able to offer a rounded and ethical solution that protects vulnerable individuals with compassion and full legal compliance.

Our Approach

We are able to support clients with the following:

  • Making Court applications for appointment as a delegate.
  • Managing day-to-day finances, income and payments.
  • Coordinating with care homes, medical providers and carers.
  • Ensuring regular reporting and accounting to the Judicial Greffe.
  • Managing tax compliance.
  • Maintaining clear and compliant records of decisions and transactions.

We are also able to act under private mandates in situations where formal court appointment is not yet required but support is needed.

Our services

If you no longer have legal capacity to manage your affairs, we can be appointed as your delegate through the Royal Court of Jersey or via personal arrangement. We manage your finances, payments, care costs and property in accordance with your best interests, while maintaining full accountability and reporting.

Our Values in Action

Delivery: We act reliably and efficiently, ensuring every responsibility is fulfilled with care and diligence.
