Expertise

I am an English solicitor at BCR Law LLP with close to a decade of experience advising on family law matters and complex personal disputes. My practice combines significant family law experience with private client work encompassing wills, probate and estate administration, allowing me to advise clients on both the resolution of family disputes and the protection of family wealth.

I developed my family law practice at a Legal 500 ranked firm recognised as a top-tier practice for family law, where I handled a wide range of complex matters arising from relationship breakdown. I regularly advise on substantial and high-value financial disputes arising on divorce, including cases involving international assets, family businesses and offshore structures.

I also have particular experience advising on sensitive and contested private law children proceedings, including cross-border disputes, relocation applications and Hague Convention proceedings, as well as cases concerning contact, residence and financial provision for children, including periodical payments. This breadth of experience continues to inform the advice I provide to clients at BCR.

I have extensive experience working on matters before the Royal Court of Jersey and regularly work alongside Jersey advocates on significant and sensitive cases. I am responsible for the day-to-day conduct of proceedings, developing case strategy, preparing evidence and legal arguments, and working closely with advocates in the presentation of matters before the Court, including cases subsequently reported in the Jersey Law Reports.

My family law practice has given me a strong understanding of the financial and personal issues that arise within families. This perspective complements my work within BCR’s Private Client team, where I advise on wills, probate and estate administration in Jersey, as well as succession planning and cross-border estates involving assets or beneficiaries in multiple jurisdictions. My work frequently involves coordinating multi-jurisdictional estate administrations with overseas lawyers, advisers and financial institutions.

My approach is clear, practical and measured, particularly where matters involve sensitive personal circumstances. I understand that clients are often navigating difficult situations alongside unfamiliar and complex legal processes, so I place particular importance on making the law accessible and the way forward clear. I work closely with clients to guide them through each stage in a structured and pragmatic way, ensuring they understand their legal position and the practical steps required to achieve the best possible outcome.

Humanity

I watched Legally Blonde and decided I wanted to be a lawyer. It might not have been the most conventional career epiphany, but it stuck, and it turns out Elle Woods was onto something.

I started my legal career in family law, spending five years working on emotionally charged, high-stakes cases involving finances and children. It was intense, personal, and often messy; I loved it. That experience shaped how I approach all my work today: with structure, empathy, and a sharp focus on the people behind the legal problem.

Since qualifying as an English Solicitor, my practice has evolved across the private client sector. What drives me is the human side of law: real people, real decisions, and the satisfaction of solving something that genuinely matters to someone. No two cases are the same, and I take pride in bringing clarity to complicated situations (and sometimes chaos). I approach it all with the same mix of strategy, risk assessment, and mild emotional investment I bring to my American fantasy football leagues; except the stakes are usually higher and there’s less shouting at my phone.

I was born and raised in Jersey, and building a career here, close to the people and things I care about, means a lot to me. BCR gave me the space to be both ambitious and authentic, and to develop a practice that reflects who I am. Elle would definitely approve.
