Check out what some of our team have to say about working at BCR Law
Emma Cairns, Legal Assistant, Family Law
“I enjoy working at BCR because every day is different. I am currently taking the SQE exams and hope to qualify as an English Solicitor soon. It can be challenging to work full time and study towards exams however working for a firm that promotes a flexible and supportive environment makes it a lot more manageable. The work that I do can, at times, be challenging but also very rewarding. Our clients trust us to help them navigate through some of the most difficult times of their lives and I am grateful to be able to provide assistance and support for them.”
“I joined BCR Law LLP’s predecessor firm David Benest Law, 9 years ago, as a legal assistant in the dispute resolution team.
Before joining the firm, I had completed my law degree at Oxford Brookes University and my LPC at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. My LPC program included a great deal of advocacy training which I really enjoyed and which prompted me to come back to Jersey with a view to qualifying as a Jersey Advocate.
The Partners kindly supported me through my local exams both financially and by always being on hand to discuss topics in greater detail.
I have an extremely varied practice which includes all manner of legal disputes, from personal injury and clinical negligence claims to landlord and tenant disputes and estate claims. I really enjoy the varied nature of my role and the fact that no two days are the same.
The best thing about working for BCR Law is our close knit team who are always on hand to help when you’re up against a deadline!”
“As a law student, BCR provided me with an amazing work experience while being able to follow my studies. In less than a year I have been able to work in two different department, both with amazing teams. Everyone at BCR is really helpful and supportive either for work related matters or personal ones. They always try to give you as much opportunities as they can for you to learn every aspect of working in a law firm.
What I love about BCR is really the amazing support people give you.
As being now part of the family team, I would say that what I love the most about my job is the human side of it, the patience and compassion that you need to have when dealing with a client. I also love my colleagues who are always here to cheer me up when needed.
BCR provides a lot of social events for you to meet everyone in the firm and be able to know them in another surrounding which is always great fun.”
