Emma joined in 2022 as part of the Firm’s internal training programme. She completed 6 months in each of our Wills and Probate, Dispute Resolution, Property, and Family teams. Emma now has a permanent position in the Dispute Resolution team. As of 2025, she has now qualified as an English Solicitor.
Like many students (I think!), I didn’t have a lifelong career plan mapped out; there wasn’t a particular career that I had always aspired to. This, of course, wasn’t ideal when trying to choose A-Levels and university degree options! However, my first Saturday job as a gymnastics coach made it clear to me that I found helping people achieve their goals to be very fulfilling.
After graduating university, I felt that I still wanted to learn more and be challenged in the work I would do next. I was curious about the legal profession and saw it as a career where I could hopefully make a meaningful impact. BCR Law gave me the opportunity to spend six months working in each of the service areas it offers: Wills and Estates, Dispute Resolution, Property and Family. With no specific specialism in mind this was an invaluable opportunity. At the end of my rotations around each of the departments, I requested a permanent position in the Dispute Resolution department. I enjoy how varied the work is in this department; no two cases are ever the same.
I am currently completing my Solicitor Qualifying Examinations to become a qualified solicitor. I look forward to seeing how my legal career develops and what meaningful work I can be involved in.
