I arrived in Jersey in 2008, pursuing the endless summer of my early 20’s. Out of University, bored of temping for the Government in Bristol and working in a Casino, and following a 10 minute chat with a Jerseyman in a pub, I decided to take a chance on Jersey and packed my Fiesta full to bursting with surfboards, clothes, CDs and a tent! After 6 months sleeping on a pool Lilo (despite having upgraded my tent to a house share), my mum scolded me over the phone stating that I would never get a girlfriend if I didn’t own a bed. A bit harsh but likely true! I relented and purchased a second-hand futon. Two weeks later I had a girlfriend. Three months later I began a graduate program with Deloitte to study for my ACA. I’m now Associate Director of a growing local tax practise; my girlfriend has become my wife. I have two beautiful, funny daughters, an indefatigable Sprocker Spaniel and an aggressive Tortoise who pursues me relentlessly round the garden!…I still manage to get in for a surf when I get half the chance!
