Kelly specialises in Jersey tax, both personal and corporate in nature, as well as UK personal tax.
In addition to tax compliance work Kelly assists James Collins and Adam Brookes with tax advisory work for Jersey and UK tax matters - personal and corporate.
Her role also includes running the tax compliance function to ensure all statutory filing and payment deadlines are met as well as managing client relationships.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who decided that she wanted to follow in her dad’s footsteps….those footsteps lead her straight to the wonderful world of tax.
All was well in the little girl’s world until one year, following a particularly busy, and brutal, 31 January UK personal tax return filing deadline, she was in need of a break. And that break presented itself as the opportunity to spend 10 weeks in her then-employer’s Jersey office. Undeterred by the fact she wasn’t 100% sure where Jersey was, she jumped at the chance and was the successful applicant to undertake the secondment.
However, following the conclusion of the secondment, and within hours of being back at her London-based job she was suffering from Jersey withdrawal symptoms. And as a result, within 7 weeks of having left Jersey to return to her London life, she was on a plane back to Jersey; this time with a permanent role under her belt and her husband in tow.
Fast forward 12 years and I am a proud member of a new and thriving, local business which I manage, rather successfully (even if I do say so myself), to fit in around my other full-time role as a mummy to my 6-year-old daughter.
