Benjamin is a Jersey Solicitor (Écrivain) working in the Dispute Resolution team and has been with BCR Law LLP since 2018. The Dispute Resolution team deals with a wide range of disputes across all sectors, from professional negligence to property claims. Within his role, he predominantly works with Partner Jeremy Heywood, assisting on commercial and civil disputes. These range from property & construction, to contractual disputes, personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
After a decade spent as a self-employed carpenter – renovating homes, building furniture, and overseeing a variety of building projects – I put down my tools for the last time in 2016. I’d reached a point where continuing in the trade no longer felt sustainable. The choice was clear: either join a building firm or pursue something entirely different. I chose to change direction.
With no dramatic calling, but a genuine curiosity, I began studying law through the University of London via the Institute of Law in Jersey. It was simply the most appealing option: studying for a law degree while remaining in Jersey.
