I am Counsel in BCR Law's Dispute Resolution team, specialising in a range of civil and commercial disputes, and employment law. I have been part of BCR Law since its formation in 2016, having previously worked for one of the firm's predecessor practices.
I act for both local and international clients in a wide range of contentious matters, including, sanctions and regulatory, property and construction, and general civil, commercial and trust litigation.
I also advise both employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, including contracts, disciplinary and grievance procedures, discrimination claims, redundancy processes, workplace disputes and Employment and Discrimination Tribunal proceedings.
My approach is centred on providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice. Whether advising individuals or businesses, I work closely with clients to understand their objectives, manage risk and achieve the best possible outcome in what can often be challenging circumstances.
As an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, I regularly represent clients before the Jersey Courts. I have acted in a number of significant employment and dispute resolution matters and have extensive experience guiding clients through both negotiated settlements and formal litigation.
Clients value my pragmatic approach, responsiveness and commitment to finding effective solutions. I am passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal issues with confidence and providing advice that is both strategic and easy to understand.
When I realised that the prospects of becoming a pro footballer were incredibly slim, and that I would not be able to coast through life simply by playing sport, I had to find a more realistic path. My grandfather had farmed the family farm in St Martin and growing up I had always enjoyed the hands-on work and graft that came with that, however, given the unfortunate downturn in agriculture over here, I was told this was not a viable option.
Following an internship at a local firm, I decided to study law at university. Whilst studying, I continued workplaces at a number of firms during holidays and I was eventually offered a job opportunity following completion of my Legal Practice Course. I was, however, lucky enough to work on an arable farm in Hampshire for two years whilst studying; this was certainly enough to give me my farming fix!
