The Employment Forum has published its report and recommendations on the level of statutory annual leave entitlement in Jersey. The Employment Forum’s report, was based on consultations with over three hundred businesses, individuals and organisations.
The recommendations seek to increase the present statutory annual leave from two weeks to three weeks. In addition it recommends amending the Employment Law to ensure there is a minimum 15 minute rest break if they work more than 6 hours or more during the working day. Action Point
The Forum is recommending to the Minister for Social Security arranges for these recommendations to be introduced into the Employment (Jersey) Law 2003 by 1 January 2022 at the latest. Employers should start considering what if any amendments need to be made to their existing working arrangements (including shift patterns) and employment contracts to accommodate these recommendations.
