Jersey Wills and Probate
At BCR Law, our experienced lawyers provide wills and probate services for both Jersey residents and international clients with assets in Jersey.
Why should you make a will?
A will is one of life’s most important documents. The purpose of a will is to ensure that, so far as possible, your wishes are respected as to what happens to your assets after your death. It allows you to specify who you want to get what and in what circumstances.
If you die without a valid will in place then you will die ‘intestate’. This means that your assets would be dealt with according to Jersey law on intestacy. This may well result in your assets going to people you had not wanted or intended to benefit from them.
Jersey Wills and Probate services
Our team know how best to balance the increasingly complicated world we all live in with the sophisticated needs of today’s clients. This is why we can design and deliver completely bespoke solutions you need to plan efficiently for your and your family’s futures.
In addition to offering specialist assistance across all aspects of estate planning, including drafting wills of movable and immovable property for Jersey residents, our team comprises skilled probate lawyers with years of experience in handling international probate matters in Jersey. We have in-depth knowledge of our local laws and procedures, ensuring that your case is handled with the care and efficiency required.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
When it comes to preparing for the future, making a Lasting Power of Attorney is something that we passionately advocate for all our clients. While we hope never to be in a position to have to use one, the peace of mind and comfort a Lasting Power of Attorney can bring you and your loved ones during a time when you are at your most vulnerable is invaluable.
Lasting Powers of Attorney are there to ensure that your wishes for your health and wellbeing, along with your personal affairs, are followed if you are ever to be in a position where you are not able to make a decision yourself.
Lasting Powers of Attorney can appoint a family member or a loved one, or to a trusted lawyer at BCR Law LLP.
