BCR Law’s Wills and Probate team is looking to recruit a junior paralegal to join its busy and growing team.
Core responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with the Advocates and fee earners in the team to assist with the full range of services we provide to our Wills and Probate clients. The role is varied and we need someone who is able to integrate within the team, adapt to new ways of working and is willing to learn. You will be required to:
- Prepare Wills
- Complete administration for probate applications, valuations and distribution of probated assets
- Prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Process administration of delegations
- Liaise with clients and overseas law firms via email and telephone
- Deal with file opening, archiving and AML procedures
- Liaise with the Probate Registrar in relation to applications
Core skills
We would require the successful candidate to show enthusiasm and a desire to learn and work in Wills and Probate, as well as show the following skills:
- Excellent written and communication skills are essential
- Demonstrate solid academic results or transferable skills – A Level or equivalent would be beneficial although not essential
- Ability to think quickly and adapt
- Good IT skills are required
- Good organisational skills are needed to be efficient in adhering to deadlines
- Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, other firms and uphold our good reputation with the Court
Progression
Training will be provided along with internal mentoring. For candidates that excel in the role there is always progression through the firm and with further education.
