Support Local Charities: leave a legacy that lasts

In partnership with Les Amis, we are excited to announce the extension of our hours at the Parish Halls for Legacy Week 2024, following a successful series of parish roadshow events. This initiative is designed to encourage people to consider leaving a lasting legacy gift in their Wills to support local charities that make a difference in our community.

Our firm has been proud to maintain a long-standing relationship with Les Amis, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of islanders with learning disabilities. Most recently, our conveyancing team—comprised of Michelle Leverington, Wendy Luce, and Anna Field—helped facilitate the acquisition of 13 apartments from Andium Homes. This property will serve as sheltered accommodation in the heart of town, providing much-needed housing for individuals with learning disabilities.

The recent closure and down-sizing within the local charity network underscores the critical role local charities play in the lives of islanders. It has also highlighted how essential public donations and legacy gifts are to ensuring these organizations can continue their vital work.

In continued support of Les Amis, we are hosting free drop-in coffee mornings during Legacy Week 2024, where community members can receive tips and information on legacy gifting. These informal sessions, co-hosted by Managing Partner and Advocate David Benest and Partner and Advocate Jeremy Heywood, offer the perfect opportunity to ask questions about leaving a gift in your Will and learn more about how your generosity can have a lasting impact.
