Two new lawyers join BCR Law
BCR Law has welcomed two new lawyers as part of the continued expansion of its legal practice, increasing the number of lawyers there to 16.
Joanna Gardiner has joined the litigation department from a large local law firm and specialises in criminal defence matters. Previously, she worked for several years as a Senior Associate, focusing on private client litigation in the areas of crime, family, personal injury and clinical negligence. Prior to this, she worked in London before returning to Jersey, including practising at the English Bar and working for a London law firm.
Joanna is a non-practising barrister and read for the English Bar at The Inns of Court School of Law. Prior to this, she studied English Law and Spanish Law at The University of Kent at Canterbury and spent a year at La Universidad Complutense in Madrid as part of her studies.
English solicitor Emma Baker has joined BCR Law’s business and property department, working alongside Partner Wendy Lambert.
Emma acts in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters and also assists clients with commercial and residential leases (acting for both landlords and tenants), in commercial sales and purchases and also in residential sales and purchases.
Emma undertook her training contract in Sheffield with hlw Keeble Hewson LLP. Prior to this, she undertook an LLM in International Legal Practice, specialising in Corporate and Commercial Law, with the University of Law in 2015, gaining a distinction.
